Beneath the bright lights of the studio, Ben isn't sure if he heard Deds right so he just stares at her. "Deds?"
"You're behaving like one of the kids in my class. Ben just go home and act like a normal person."
Ben stares a moment longer and then leaves the studio. Debbie's ex-fiance Jason and the studio audience don't even wait until the doors are closed to start laughing.
Debs voice saying, "You're scaring the hell out of me!" echos in Ben's head but not loud enough to drown out the laughter. He doesn't even realize he's in Milliways until he almost steps on a wait-rat. "Sorry," he says distracted. "When ya get a chance can I have a banana split over there? Thanks."
He then seats himself at the booth and tries to stop hearing Debs and the laughter.
