I'm Ben Grimm but you probably know me as the ever lovin' blue eyed Thing. I was a founding member of the Fantastic Four and was even an Avenger, until things went pear shaped, with my reality colliding with a bunch of other ones. Things turned out well enough, but I lost my best friend and his wife. Now I'm flying in space with the Guardians of the Galaxy, which is pretty sweet. Being in space was one of my first big dreams and now it's come true.

I just wish Reed, Sue, and the kids were here to share it with. Johnny too, I suppose. Still, what can ya do? It is what it is.

Some of the things Ben didn't mention...

His body is covered with an orange, flexible, rock-like hide. He has no apparent neck and he has only four fingers (including the thumb) on each hand and four toes on each foot. He, also, has no outer ear structure.

He stands 6’ 0” and weights 650 lbs.

He has blue eyes and no hair.

As a mutated human, Ben has the following powers:
Superhuman Strength: The Thing's main superhuman power is his phenomenal superhuman strength, making him one of the strongest beings in the Marvel Universe.
Superhuman Durability: The rock-like composition of Ben's body renders him highly resistant to physical injury.
Sensory Adaptation: His five senses can withstand greater amounts of sensory stimuli than he could when he was a normal human being, with no reduced sensitivity.
Superhuman Stamina: Ben can exert himself at high levels for about a day before the build-up of fatigue poisons in his blood impairs his performance.
Immortality: Ben cannot age. The only way for him to age is by being in his human form. If he's not turned back to human or decides not to turn back to human one day a year as he's able to, Ben would theoretically never die.

He is also an expert pilot, an experienced astronaut, a master combatant, and can play the saxophone.
