Angrir revels in the destruction and fear his rampage is causing but where are the Asgardians? What are the heroes? It is a hollow victory when there are none worthy to fight. Still there is the fear...so sweet.
Something catches his foot and he looks down to see nothing.
"Hrrr? Force-field." he rumbles touching the host's memories.
"Your friends are coming. The want to slow you down...to silence your rage...silence your fury," the starfish says, it's voice like twisting metal. "They want to stop you from spreading the Serpents truth. They want to kill you. Kill them first."
In the fantasi-car above Angrir, Reed says to Susan, "For most of my life Ben's been right there by my side. If there's anything left of him in that creature, he'll listen to me. He'll listen to--"
"REED!" Susan calls out in warning as the hammer Angrir threw crashes through the vehicle sending them flying. Susan catches herself with a force-field and Reed stretches himself into a parachute. "I've never seen him like this...so powerful...so angry," he says.
"They've always hated you," one starfish shriek-whispers to Angrir.
"They hated you because you were different," adds the second.
"Hideous while they were so beautiful!" Confirms the third.
"Reed...Suzie..what is this? An intervention?" Angrir mocks.
"The hammer...that's the source of his power...the source of whatever's wrong with him," Susan says as she spots the hammer flying back to Ben. She builds a quick force-field to block the hammer from reaching him. "If we can keep it from him, we might be able to break whatever hold it has over him."
The hammer strikes the force-field and shatters it. Susan collapses and Reed quickly is at her side. "Sue!"
"Don't worry about me. Just a little rattled."
"I'm not sure if we can stop him..." Reed admits helplessly.
"This is Ben we're talking about. Ben! You've never shied away from the impossible before," Susan replies vehemently.
"You're right," Reed replies encouraged by her words. "And I won't start now." He swarms over to Ben, stretching his limbs to ensnare him. "Ben--listen to me!"
"Let me ask you something, Stretcho. How many little trinkets do you have back in the lab that are designed to kill me? How many weapons have you been secretly piecing together because you knew this day would come?" Angrir taunts as he pulls back the hammer to strike. "I bet you wish you'd brought along one of your ray guns now."
"That's not you talking, Ben. We're going to follow through with on our plans!" Reed says wrapping Ben up before he can strike. "We're going to change the future! And you're going to be with us when we do it!"
"The future?!?" Angrir says grabbing a handful of Reed and tearing.
